“ This review is for the lunch menu! ALENbi is everything kosher has been missing and then some. ALENbi is in the same league as Nur and Timna. If ever there was a kosher lunch I'll have dreams of, it was the one I had at ALENbi. Now let me tell you why. Firstly I'm extremely partial to Mediterranean fare yet I can tell you everything written below is with an absolute open mind. When I first walked in, I could already tell my experience would be impressive. Chef Elior was not here that day but I knew the people in the kitchen would outdo themselves. I ordered practically the entire menu sans maybe 2 dishes (one contained beets - and I despise beets and the other was a main meat dish). I honestly can say that I was transported into a gastronomic cloud of excellence I was praying not to end any time soon but alas, all great meals must come to an end. The highlights of my lunch were the following dishes: - Falafel Tartare - a dish you cannot miss if you go. Firstly, the innovation of raw falafel, totally mind-blowing. Secondly, the pairing of White Tahini, Sumac Onion, Crispy Chickpea, Fava Bean, & Amba Coulis just elevated the dish to a level others have yet to reach. - Babaganush - When you think of babaganush, you think of the blended eggplant version but ALENbi once again surprised me with a novel dish that blew me away. (Picture attached so you can see what I mean). They served a full charred eggplant with some beautiful ingredients such as date syrup, eggplant cream, pistachio and fried onion. No words, just a must get! - Mediterranean Fish - Pure Excellence! This dish was a branzino grilled to perfection. Served with White Eggplant Puree, Freekeh, Preserved Lemon, Sautéed Green Beans, Raw Tahini, Arugula, & Cilantro. - Israeli Souvlaki - Once again, simply spectacular dish that consists of Pulled Lamb, Chicken Thigh, Romanian Salsa, Grilled Onion & Cabbage, Tahini, Chipotle Sauce, Amba Coulis, & Fresh Greens. These were my highlights from the lunch and would very much recommend all of them. I recommend the entire menu too but if you're choosing, make sure these are on your list. Aside for food being incredible, the service was just as wonderful. Our waitress was extremely attentive, super helpful in our decision of what to order and an absolute pleasure to talk to. Same goes for management and if you're wondering about parking, there are metered spots usually available right outside the restaurant. I must say this was a very surprising and pleasurable lunch to have had in a kosher setting. Price point is pretty reasonable too. If you're in the area and wondering where to go for lunch this is the place. (I'll report on dinner as soon as I go). ”
